The police at Ipakodo Division, Ikorodu, Lagos State, South West Nigeria, have arrested two middle aged men identified as Dahunsi Kehinde and Deji Falade, in a commercial Suzuki car marked LAGOS RC 95 EPE, along Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu, during a stop and search operation.
P.M.NEWS gathered that during the exercise, one pump action gun and three live cartridges were recovered and when the police demanded for explanation as to the source of the gun and ammunition, the suspects could not respond.
They were subsequently arrested and taken to the station.
According to an impeccable police source, the suspects might be going for an operation before they were arrested.
“I am very sure that both men were going for a robbery operation before their arrest, if not, what were they doing with the gun and the ammunition?†the officer queried.
Similarly, the police at Bode Thomas Division have recovered three locally made single barrel short guns and 16 live cartridges at the back of Texaco Filling Station, Alaka, Lagos, following a tip off from members of the public.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, for more investigation.
