In a bid to mark Nigeria’s 50th Independence anniversary, popular musicians have been billed to perform at a concert tagged Afrocentric and Old School.
Some of the famous musicians expected to perform at the concert include Stella Monye, Onyeka Onwenu, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Sir Shina Peters and Bright Chimezie, while Pa Anthony Enahoro will receive a special honour from the event organisers because “he is the only nationalist who gallantly fought for independence.â€
According to the programme coordinator, Johnny Bassey, the objective of the concert is to promote the rich and inherent African culture.
Scheduled to hold at the Shell Hall of the MUSON Centre, Lagos on 25 September, the concert will also be attended by the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola and other eminent Nigerians.
