Temiloluwa Adegoke was a cynosure of all eyes in the final of the U-14 Lagos State Squash Tourney at the weekend as he dethroned defending champion, Lanre Pratt in the match that ended 11-9, 3-11, 11-8 and 11-8.
In the pulsating final watched by few spectators at the Rowe Park Sports Complex, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria, Adegoke shocked his opponent.
After the game, the new champion said he had a great match with Pratt, adding that his opponent was over confidence.
“Pratt is a good squash player. He always beat me during our trainings, but today (Saturday) I was more determined and played better to win the match,†said Adegoke, who is a student of Aje Comprehensive High School, Sabo, Yaba.
Chairman, Lagos State Squash Racket Association, Edward Omotesho, expressed satisfaction with the standard of play, officiating and organisation of the tourney.
