Members of Youth Coalition, a political youth group of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos,  Southwest Nigeria, have decamped to Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and is canvassing for Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola’s re-election.

The group made this known in a communique at the end of the general meeting of the organisation in Lagos recently.

The group, in the statement signed by its founder and president, Comrade Abdullahi Taiwo (Jnr.), who is also the chairman of the Bariga chapter of the coalition, stated that the group decided to join the ruling party in the state after considering the massive development going on in the state.

‘‘We are using this medium to denounce our former People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) affiliation to embrace B.R.F. wholly-heartedly in our attempt to ensure that Lagos is unrivalled in terms of development.

‘‘We are convinced that an additional four years in office will contribute immensely to the governor’s quest to sweep out poverty, illiteracy, infrastructure decay and insecurity among others from the state in the shortest possible time,’’ the group stated.

The group called on Lagosians to give their vote to Governor Fashola in the coming election.

Taiwo who spoke with the P.M.NEWS after the meeting said, ‘‘the primary objective of the youth group is development which the Fashola administration has been able to give the state. To prevent the man from going for another term may draw back the progress the state is witnessing now. It is on this point that we are joining the party and throwing all our support behind the man.’’
