A limited liability company, Anioma Property Brokers Limited, has dragged a Lagos businesswoman, Mrs. Cordelia Ekwueme, before a Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court over alleged unpaid agency fee of N800,000.
According to an affidavit sworn to by the director of Anioma Property Brokers, Barrister Ike Ofokwu, it was averred that the aforesaid N800,000 owed the company by Mrs. Ekwueme was for the consideration of securing the lease of an apartment for her at House 143, Road 45, Victoria Garden City, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria.
The defendant was said to have refused to pay the said agency fee of N800,000 which is 10 per cent of N8 million being the value for the lease of the property for two years in spite of two letters of demand served on her.
