The legal tussle going on between the registered trustees of the Nigeria  Football Federation and the Nigeria Football Federation has assumed a dramatic turn.

Alhaji Aminu Maigari and other board members have filed a case in the appellate court,  asking it to overturn the ruling of a high court, which nullified their election yesterday  in Lagos.

They have therefore filed for an application order for stay of the execution of the order.

In an application filed before the court, counsel to the registered trustees, Dr. Joseph  Nwobike, SAN,  said the grounds of the appeal filed raise substantial and arguable issues of  law without probability in view of the fact that there exists special circumstances, while  awaiting the judgment.

In the notice of appeal, Nwobike contended that the trial judge did not invite the counsel  or the party to address the court regarding the illegality of the 26 August election.
