Two women, Mrs. Biola Owolabi, 41, and Mrs. Idiyat Somade, 45, who lured a 14-year old SS1 student, names withheld from Lagos to Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria for forceful marriage have been arrested and charged to court.
PMNEWS gathered that the two suspects reside at 21 Ayodele Street, Adekunle, Yaba, Lagos with the victim and her her parents.
The women allegedly lured the victim to one Mr. Sunday Mosinoye, 32 residing in Abeokuta and married her to him for an unspecified amount of money.
The money was to be paid after one week if the family of the girl did not complain or raises an alarm over the whereabouts of their daughter.
The supposed husband was said to have succeeded in having sex with the minor for three days before the bubble burst.
The mother of the teenager, PM NEWS learnt raised an alarm which attracted neighbours who joined her in a search party for the girl.
She reported the matter to the police when she received a tip-off from members of the public that her daughter left home with the two suspects on the fateful day.
When the police arrested the two suspects for questioning, one of them Biola Owolabi confessed that the second suspect, Idiyat Somade, her neighbour brought ‘the contract’ to adbuct the girl to Sunday, her uncle for marriage and she told me that he would pay us money after one week if the family of the girl did not complain.
“It was the devil and poverty that pushed us to commit the crime. I plead for forgiveness,†she pleaded.
The suspects later led the police to Abeokuta, Ogun State where the supposed husband and wife were arrested and brought back to Lagos.
While the teenager has reunited with her family, the three suspects have been arraigned in court.
