As Muslims across the country celebrated the end of the Ramadan fast, the Oba-elect of Isheri Oshun in Igando Ikotun Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Nigeria, Alhaji Chief Sasimdeen Mojeed, has called on Nigerians to allow the virtues imbibed during the 30-day fast guide their behaviour particularly as the 2011 elections draw nearer.
In his Eid-el-fitri message at Isheri Oshun praying ground, he urged both Muslims and Christians to continue to share the spirit of love, humility, kindness and justice which has been taken as guiding principles throughout the Ramadan period.
He called on Muslim to continue to pray for the peace, progress and stability of the nation and refrain from every form of immorality.
While admonishing Muslim youths not to see the Eid-el-fitri as an occasion to indulge in excessive eating and drinking, rather they should see it as a period of celebration and reflections on the lesson of the Ramadan.
