As Muslims across the country celebrated the end of the Ramadan fast, the Oba-elect ofÂ Isheri Oshun in Igando Ikotun Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Nigeria, AlhajiÂ Chief Sasimdeen Mojeed, has called on Nigerians to allow the virtues imbibed during theÂ 30-day fast guide their behaviour particularly as the 2011 elections draw nearer.
In his Eid-el-fitri message at Isheri Oshun praying ground, he urged both Muslims andÂ Christians to continue to share the spirit of love, humility, kindness and justice which hasÂ been taken as guiding principles throughout the Ramadan period.
He called on Muslim to continue to pray for the peace, progress and stability of the nationÂ and refrain from every form of immorality.
While admonishing Muslim youths not to see the Eid-el-fitri as an occasion to indulge inÂ excessive eating and drinking, rather they should see it as a period of celebration andÂ reflections on the lesson of the Ramadan.
