The G-15 lawmakers of the Ogun State House of Assembly, South-West Nigeria, have invalidated all actions taken by the dissident G-9 members last Monday.
The lawmakers led by the authentic Speaker, Tunji Egbetokun, were said to have taken the decision at a sitting in a secret place in the state today where they also suspended the nine members from the House of Assembly indefinitely.
P.M.NEWS gathered that lawmakers during the plenary session which was recorded on video and to be made available to newsmen also deliberated on the situation in the state, particularly the government’s desperate desire to take the N100 billion bond.
At the sitting, P.M.NEWS further gathered, the G-15 members also passed a vote of no confidence on the governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
Attempts by the G-15 lawmakers to meet at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta yesterday and this morning were said to have been thwarted by the continued closure of the complex by the State Security Service, SSS.
Security report also have it that supporters of Governor Daniel and the G-9 members who are doing everything possible to prevent them from sitting were planning to attack them.
A member of the G-15 who spoke with P.M.NEWS under anonymity said “they are only trying to buy time and that’s why they want to stall our sitting so that they can access overdraft and loans. They want the house to remain in limbo.â€
The Ogun crisis is far from over as the G-15 was said to have vehemently rejected the stringent bargaining condition given by Governor Daniel for the resolution of the crisis.
The governor was said to have asked for the return of Mrs. Titi Oseni who was impeached in 2008, as the speaker, saying that was the only condition that would resolve the issue.
Daniel, however, conceded the chairmanship of the party in the state to his opponents.
