Prominent journalist and lawyer, Osa Director has joined the race for Edo South Senatorial  district. Osa who is hoping to actualize his dream under the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN  flagged off his campaign at Egor Local Council office of ACN.

Defying the heavy rains, over 300 supporters of the human rights crusader thronged the  Uselu- Lagos road office of Egor ACN. The journalist cum lawyer held the enthusiastic  supporters and even executive members of ACN in Egor Local Council spell bound with his  oratory eloquence. He pledged to offer quality service if given the ticket to fly the  party’s flag. “I am in the race to offer true and undiluted service. It is time for men and  women who have vision, sound pedigree and knowledge-driven to seek political offices and  help in the ongoing positive transformation of the state under Comrade Governor Adams  Oshiomhole”, he said.

“As a believer in transformational representation, I will ensure that it is no longer  business as usual if given the opportunity to serve. Not intent on wasting our leaders’ time  and all those who came out to show solidarity with me”, Osa said, adding that he would just  highlight two of the issues that he hopes to help resolve if given the chance.

“The issue of our stolen artifacts by Britain must be revisited. I will ensure a National  Assembly resolution to that effect is passed so that we can write to her Majesty, the Queen  of England, the Prime Minister of the U.K and the British House of Commons on the urgent  need to return those artifacts and also pay compensation for the over 100 years they were  kept in their museum”.

He also promised to help standardize Edo language movie industry in collaboration with the  best producers and directors in Nollywood who are indigenes of Edo state. Thereafter, “we  will request for a special channel on DSTV and HITV dedicated to Edo movies. This will help  us export our rich cultural heritage and traditions to other parts of the world”.

Receiving him, Egor Council ACN chairman, John Aigbogun said there is no doubt that Osa  Director is highly qualified for the position, especially with his sound pedigree in social  crusades, coupled with his diverse educational qualifications. But insisted the aspirant  must work hard to market his sellable and enviable credentials to the other six local  government Councils which constitute Edo South Senatorial District.
