10 Charged With Robbery

Ten suspects have been charged with robbery at Ogudu magistrates court in Lagos, Nigeria.

The suspects are: Abass Yunusa, Ibrahim Waidi, Toheeb Waheed, Monday John, Ibrahim Atilala, Emeka Uzor, Paul Odinaka, Victor Edet, Pius Peter and Nicholas Ahunka.

According to the prosecutor, they conspired to commit felony to wit robbery on 10 September, 2010 at about 1.a.m on top of Berger Bridge, Isheri, Lagos, along Lagos Ibadan expressway.

The police added that the offence is punishable under section S16 of the Criminal Code cap 17. Vol.11 laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

They were accused to have robbed one Obani Ifeanyi Chukwu of his black berry hand set valued N65,000.

The suspected robbers also did grievous harm to one Epharim Samson, an offence punishable under Section 335 of the Criminal Code Cap 17 Vol.11 laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 003.

They also damaged a side mirror valued at N90,000 side head light valued at N45,000 and two rear lights of a luxurious bus registration number XW 552 AGL.

Property of Bonny Ways Motors Nigeria Limited… Lagos and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 451 of the criminal code cap 17 Vol.11 laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

They all pleaded not guilty to the four court charge and were granted bail in sum by Mrs. Aje Afuwa, the presiding magistrate.

She has adjourned the case till 6 September, 2010.
