Residents of Ajah, Sangotedo, Ogombo and Okun Mopo area of Eti Osa LCDA on Wednesday troopedÂ out in large numbers to benefit from the dividends of democracy extended to them by theÂ Lagos State government through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation inÂ collaboration with Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area, LCDA, to register for freeÂ skill acquisition programme.
The training would last for one month after which the beneficiaries would be empowered withÂ cash and working tools to start their own businesses to enable them become self-reliant andÂ useful to themselves and the society.
The registration of residents for the free programme would last for one week and lecturesÂ have commenced, while the proper inauguration of the project would take place on Monday 19Â September, 2010. The event was held at Sangotedo Primary School, Eti Osa, LCDA Ajah, Lagos,Â South West, Nigeria.
The free acquisition training programme comprises tie and dye, balloon and flowerÂ decoration, cake, soap and pomade production, hat making and crafts, bead stinging,Â production of stove, thread, rat poison, insecticide and disinfectant.
Dignitaries present at the occasion includes Baale of Sangotedo, Chief Rafiu Lawal Ajakaiye,Â Baale of Okera Nla, Chief Bashiru Kolawole lasisi, Baale of Otun Mopo, Chief ShakiraÂ Adekunle Akinlade, Mrs. Sanni who represented the Commissioner for Women Affairs and PovertyÂ Alleviation, Mrs. Orelope Adefulire and Mrs. E.O Sarumi.
