Two men, Daniel Obukokwo, 21 and Shakiru Oyeleye 18, have been docked on a three-count charge of burglary and stealing at the Ogudu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos.
The Police said they conspired to commit felony on the 8 September 2010 at 1, Gregory Street, Ketu, Lagos. The prosecutor alleged that they also committed burglary and stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section S16 of the Criminal Code Cap C 17 Vol.11 Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
Police also claimed that Daniel Obukokwo and Shakiru Oyeleye and others now at large on the same date time and place did steal clothes, jeans, generator and DVD player and N180,000 all valued at N450,000, properties of Solomon Ikechukwu and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 390 of the Criminal Code Cap C 17 Vol. 11 Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2003.
They pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge and were granted bail in sum N500,000 with two sureties each in the like sum.
Mrs. Aje Afuwa, the presiding magistrate, ordered that the sureties must produce evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State government. The case was adjourned till 11 October, 2010.
