Awilo Storms Nigeria For Fela

Plans have been concluded for Makossa King,b Awilo Logonba, and his band to honour Fela  Anikulapo Kuti during this year’s Felabration.

P.M.NEWS learnt that the Kuti family and members of the organising committee of Felabration  2010 have concluded arrangement with the Makossa king and he has promised to play at the New  Afrika Shrine, Ikeja Lagos State, Nigeria in honour of Fela.

Yeni Kuti, Fela’s first daughter, told  P.M.NEWS at the New Afrika  Shrine yesterday that  all things being equal,  Awilo will be playing in Nigeria once again.

“We have discussed  with Awilo and members of his management. It is now left for us to  perfect our area here in Nigeria.  By God’s grace Awilo will play at the 2010 Felabration,”  Yeni said.

Apart from the Makossa crooner, other artistes who have confirmed their participation are  Dbanj, and the Mo-Hit All Stars, Femi Anikulapo Kuti, Seun, Sir Shina Peters, etc.

The 2010 edition of Felabration, according Yeni, will commence on 11 October and end on 17  October.

Other activities lined up during the event include symposium, street carnival, Felamatrix,  Fela work partners, etc.
