The Yoruba Unity Forum, YUF, has appealed to Governor Christopher Alao-akala of Oyo State and his Osun State counterpart, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola to close ranks over the crisis rocking Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology, LAUTECH , Ogbomosho. The YUF stated that it is dissatisfied with the impasse between the two Yoruba states.
In a communique issued at the end of YUF meeting convened by the widow of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Mrs. HID Awolowo at Efunyela House, Ikenne, residence of the Awolowos, a strong appeal was sent to the factions in Ogun State legislature to end the crises. The Forum promised to raise a committee to look into the matter.
In the statement signed by Chief Dipo Jimilehin and Senator Tony Adefuye, the YUF stated that it is not happy with the rampant crisis in Jos and its environs and is in support of steps taken by the Federal Government in sending a delegate to work out the possibility of assisting the victims of the disturbances.
The Yoruba Unity Forum also requested the governors of Yoruba states to ensure security of lives and properties in all Yoruba states in the Federation.
