President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agent, ANLCA, Prince Olayiwola Shittu has stated that the situation of ANLCA was a challenge as they have so many problems on the ground.
He said there was a vacuum of 18 months before he came into office when the administrative officer was in charge of affairs of ANLCA leading to certain problems.
Shittu said he believed in doing the right thing at the right time, adding “I don’t give bribe, I don’t take bribe.â€
According to the ANLCA president, the only source of fund available to the organisation is the contributions from members.
He blamed the past leadership of the association for the present problems facing ANLCAÂ because they failed to utilised the money they realised to uplift the association.
Shittu said he was one of the pioneers of a national identity for freight forwarding in Nigeria.
“In 2000, I sponsored a bill titled ‘Council for the Regulation of Clearing and Farwarding in Nigeria’. It lacked a follow up and so died a natural death.
He said “I have never collected any special money from FRFFN except sitting allowance of between N20,000 and N30,000 and I have never travelled abroad on the platform of CRFFN member, neither was I given an official car.â€
