Helen Gladstone, the wife of Emmanuel Gladstone a.k.a Tommy, one of the self-confessed killers of Soboma George, the leader of The Outlaws , one of the most dreaded cult groups in Rivers State, has raised an alarm that the Rivers State Police Command may have concluded plans to kill her husband.
Mrs. Gladstone said she decided to raise alarm because all attempts to see her husband at both the Police Headquarters and the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, had been frustrated.
She claimed that when she made enquiries about the whereabouts of her husband, an unnamed policeman dismissed her and asked her whether she was aware that her husband has made someone a widow and some children fatherless.
Mrs. Gladstone alleged that she is afraid if her husband would be allowed to go through due process of law.
But when contacted, Dr. Rita Innoma-Abbey it was not possible to get through to her at press time. But a source at the command dismissed the allegations by Mrs. Gladstone to a Port Harcourt-based radio station, Rhythm 93.7 that there were plans to eliminate her husband extra-judicially as frivolous.
Considering past experience whereby militants forcefully released their colleagues detained in police custody like they did the late Soboma George in Port Harcourt prisons and when he was detained at the Central Police Station, Port Harcourt, for a traffic offence, it is not clear if they are detained by the police or other security agencies.
