Police in Delta have arrested six persons in connection with the crisis in Ekpan community in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.
The District Police Officer of Ekpan Police Division, Mr Muhammed Mu’azu, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on phone on Wednesday.
Mu’azu warned perpetrators of the crisis to stop the act or feel the full weight of the law.
The crisis which resumed on Tuesday was due to an alleged misunderstanding between a popular community chief and officials of Ekpan Development Committee.
A source told NAN that the misunderstanding arose from the money given by Chevron Nigeria Limited for the building of a Women Development Centre.
The crisis which started in July had led to litigations as well as arrest of the chief and four others from the community by the Joint Military Taskforce.
