The Central Working Committee of Freight Forwarders in Nigeria through their legal adviser, Barrister Okechukwu Ofodile, have said that any moment from now, they would be heading to the court.
He said the CRFFN, since inception two years ago, have been meeting without forming the required quorum and it is against the Act of the council.
In his own contributions to the non-compliance of the CRFFN in the composition of the members, the founder of NAGAFF, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders and their consultant, Dr. Boniface Anile Bonam, said they were fully ready to go to court for interpretation of certain aspects of the council act.
According to the consultant, “the council belongs to us and not the government. The members’ money has not been properly accounted for and we are saying that they should tell us what they have done with our monies.”
Boniface said the composition of the council’s members is unjustifiable and by its constitution, all the segments of the freight forwarders are expected to be fully represented.
He stated that it was a wrong for those in the council to believe that the council was a parastatal or a government agency.
