The anti robbery patrol team attached to Agbowa Police Station, Shagamu Road, Lagos, Nigeria, have arrested a suspect, Seun Tunde, with a locally made pistol and one live cartridge while on patrol along Orita-okuta-Shagamu Road.
According to the police, the patrol team sighted him riding a motorcycle and during a routine search, found the gun and ammunition on Tunde. When interrogated, he could not explain how he got hold of the weapon and ammunition. He was subsequently arrested.
At the station, he allegedly made a confessional statement to the police and investigation continue.
The suspect has been transferred to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos. Police are still trying to locate other members of the gang.
The police image maker, Mr. Frank Mba a Superintendent of Police, urged members of the public to be vigilant and report suspicious movement in their locality to the police.
