Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel on Wednesday at his country home in Shagamu,Â commended the management of Nigerian Breweries Plc for creatively engaging and addingÂ values to the life of the Nigerian youth through the annual Gulder Ultimate SearchÂ reality television programme.
Otunba Daniel who received the twelve contestants at his Asoludero country home inÂ Shagamu area of the state at exact 1pm, expressed his joy that the most watchedÂ Television reality programme is being hosted in the state for the very first time underÂ his leadership as the state governor.
Commending Nigerian Breweries, Governor Daniel said, â€œThe Gulder Ultimate Search is aÂ programme that the sponsors are using to bring the best out of the Nigerian Youth. I knowÂ that I donâ€™t drink alcohol but I enjoy watching the programme. Nigerian Breweries Plc hasÂ done well by using this programme, which though being used to promote their Gulder brand,Â to add value to the life of our children.
â€œThis programme also give intellectual capacity of the participants, their creativity andÂ creating avenue for financial empowerment that can enable participants in the programmeÂ to further their education. Gulder Ultimate Search which is an annual show, in itsÂ seventh series, takes away the minds of the Nigerian youth from delinquent activities andÂ is also used to create good media content that gives quality entertainment for TvÂ audiences in the countryâ€, the executive governor disclosed.
Otunba Daniel assured the organisers of his support in the course of producing the 21Â days programme in the state. He revealed that Gulder Ultimate Search will reveal theÂ tourism potentials of Ogun State Forestry Plantation Project Area, J4, Omo Forest ReserveÂ in Ijebu East Local Government area, where the programme is being shot this year.
Introducing the contestants to the governor who was accompanied at the occasion by hisÂ deputy, Alhaja Makanjuola Badaru and the state Commissioner for Forestry Development,Â Alhaji Alli Ajibode, the Public Affairs and Public Relations Manager of NigerianÂ Breweries Plc, Mr. Edem Vindah thanked Governor Daniel and the state executives forÂ giving permission to use the state facility.
Vindah explained to the governor the reason for increasing the number of contestants fromÂ the traditional 10 to 12. The reason he said, was in commemoration of the 40thÂ anniversary celebration of the Gulder brand in Nigeria, and also as a mark of celebrationÂ of the 50th independent anniversary of Nigeria.
The 12 contestants are 22 year-old Oshinmade Adeleke Oluwaseun, male from Ogun state, 27Â year-old Ahmed Sabdat Bamitale, female from Kogi state, Ebhodaghe Mercy Itohan, 27,Â female from Edo state,Â Dandison Strongface, 22, male from Rivers state, 24 year-oldÂ Okorougo Simeon Iruka, male from Imo state.
Others are: Anyanwu Chukwuma 21, male from Imo state, Oduah Tonia, 21, female from DeltaÂ state, Oluwaremi Kunle 23, male from Ekiti state, Kadiri Atiku Mohammed, 23 year-old maleÂ from Edo state, Mbanu Caroline Ukachi, 22-year old female from Imo state, Anambra stateÂ born Ofoegbu Ozioma Chinenye, a 23-year old female and 22-year Oduche Adaobi, female fromÂ Anambra state.
Others on the visit to the governor are: Mr. Emmanuel Oriakhi, Senior Brand Manager,Â Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Oluseun Lawal Brand Manager, Gulder, top Nollywood actor andÂ Gulder Ultimate Search past anchorman, Bob Manuel-Udokwu and a host of other technicalÂ partners on the project.
The winning prize for the last man standing in this year search will go home with a cashÂ prize of N7Million, N10Million worth of SUV Jeep and N500, 000 wardrobe allowance, whileÂ others will go home with consolation cash prizes ranging from N350, 000 to N2.5million.Â As usual, Safety, Health and Security on and off the search location, the organisersÂ assured, will be of the highest standards.
