Participants at the just concluded third edition of the clinic for grassroots coaches organised by the Lagos State Basketball Association, LSBBA, have commended the organisers of the programme for doing a good job.
Some of them who spoke with Basketball Timeout charged Nigeria Basketball Federation, the NBBF to emulate the LSBBA by organising a similar programme at the national level.
On the final day of the clinic organised by the association in conjunction with the American Embassy, Biodun Shelle, from Oyo State, said the clinic was very rewarding, as it has opened his mind to the latest technique of the game. He noted that the success of the clinic will have a multiply effect on the development of young grassroots basketballers.
He stated that the clinic which has grassroots coaches from four of the South-West states in attendance with games masters/mistress and schools coaches has exposed the participants to better coaching techniques which will help them develop better.
Yemi Abiodun of Ifako International School, Lagos State, also commended the organisers. He charged them to bring in more resource persons in the future to cater for the over 45 participants.
He, however, praised one of the resource personsfrom Canada, Patrick Omo-Osagie, for doing a good job.
Ondo and Osun states are the states in the South West that did not send participants for the clinic.
