As Nigerians prepare for the nation’s 50th independence anniversary celebration, President of All Nigeria Christian Leaders/Ministers Forum, ACLMF, Pastor Sam Ogedengbe has charged Christian leaders to continue to pray for the peace of the nation.
Speaking during a one-day prayer for Nigeria and all political aspirants organised by ACLMF, Oshodi Chapter, Lagos, Nigeria, Ogedengbe said the Forum had taken it upon itself to intensify its prayers in accordance with the biblical injunction, which enjoined Christians to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
The theme of the programme was Nigeria at 50: Where do we go from here?â€
He added that “Nigeria is no doubt our Jerusalem because we should all understand that as a replica of what God said in the Bible, wherever you are living is your Jerusalem. â€
While answering question on whether Nigeria was still crawling at 50 years, Ogedengbe said he did not believe Nigeria was crawling, especially taking into consideration what the nation has been blessed with.
“This country is not only blessed with natural and human resources but also with spiritual and dedicated religious leaders, highly respected all over the world.â€
He, however, reminded Nigerians to always utilise the natural gift deposited in this country judiciously and advised that during the forthcoming elections, “we should vote for the right and responsible candidates and follow the slogan of “One Man, One Vote.â€
