The newly elected president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC said his immediate plan is to improve the welfare of Nigerian athletes and take sports to the next level.
Ndanusa disclosed this after he emerged as the president of NOC in the elections held last Thursday at the National Stadium, Lagos, Nigeria.
Addressing journalists after the elections, the former sports minister said he is not happy with the performance of Nigerian athletes in international competitions. He said his tenure will bring back the lost glory.
“We are aware of the challenges before us. My immediate plan is to ensure that Nigerian athletes excel at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games, slated for Delhi, India, and also improve their welfare. This is the time we need to bring Nigerian sports back on track if we want to make our mark in international championships,†he said.
The President of Nigeria Tennis Federation said he will organise a regular stakeholders meeting where vital issues will be discussed. He stated that his administration will organise a seminar for athletes, coaches and sports administrators to update their knowledge in the world of sports.
He urged Nigerians to have confidence in the newly elected members, promising that they will do everything humanly possible to ensure that Nigeria takes her rightful position in  international competitions.
