The traditional ruler of Ndigbo in Mushin area of Lagos, Nigeria, Eze Peter Umeh has called for understanding between the Yoruba and Igbo in the state.
Eze Umeh said this at the 15th Coronation Anniversary of Baale of Papa Ajao, Mushin, High Chief Olakunle Lawal Arowooye.
He said he was happy that the Igbo and other ethnic communities are living in peace in Mushin and called for more understanding in terms of political appointments in the area to accommodate more Ndigbo in the state executive council.
“We appreciate the understanding of the state government and the Mushin Council area, but we still want better understanding so that the Igbo will feel a sense of belonging,†he stated.
Arowooye thanked the Eze Ndi Igbo for his support and assured the Igbo in Mushin that they will be accommodated in whatever programmes that could give every ethnic nationality a sense of belonging.
The Baale conferred Chieftaincy titles on some personalities in the state to commemorate his 15th anniversary.
