Abuja Bomb Blasts: Police Name Two Suspects

The Nigeria Police have identified two men who it described as the brain behind the deadly independence day bomb blasts.

In a press release on Sunday by the Force spokesperson, the two men whom the police said had intended to “commit mass murder are Chima Orlu and Ben Jessy.

According to the Police, the two men are Nigerians.

But no other information is provided on how the bombing plan was hatched, though the Police provided the photographs and other details of the suspects.

The police spokesperson said the hunt for the two men has already began.

“An arrest has been made by the police in connection with the incident,” the police said in the statement.

“Police detectives are currently hunting for another two Nigerian citizens suspected to be the masterminds of the evil plot. Their names are 1. Chima Orlu (male) 2. Ben Jessy (male).”

Ojukwu also said 10 lives were lost  in the  blasts, less than 12 given by his counterpart in the Federal Capital Territory police command earlier.

“The ugly incident resulted in the death of 10 persons, while 36 others, including 11 policemen, were seriously injured.

“These operators of an evil enterprise had targeted to commit mass murder of innocent children, young and old men and women, and members of the international community who had gathered to partake in our nation’s glorious moment.”
