Vice-President Namadi Sambo has described the Friday bomb blast that killed many people  in Abuja as “a wicked act of terrorism.”

Sambo stated this on Sunday when he visited the victims of the blast at the National  Hospital and the Maitama General Hospital in Abuja.

He said:‘This is a very sad and unfortunate occurrence, it is a wicked act and clearly  this is a terrorist act.”

He refuted claims that the act was orchestrated by the people of the Niger Delta, saying  “today we have a President who is from the Niger Delta.

“He is a patriotic Nigerian, somebody that has put the development of the country,  including the Niger Delta as the most important programme of this administration.

“For anybody to claim it is Niger Delta, it is not true. This is a clear terrorist act.”

The vice-president commiserated with each of the victims, and prayed to God to grant them  quick recovery and continue to protect the country against terrorism.
