‘Past Leaders Have Failed’

The Lagos state commandant of Centre for Discipline and Peace Initiative, Alhaji Daud Oyebanji has blamed past Nigerian leaders in the 50 years of independence for their failure to meet the yearnings of the youth. He claimed that they have failed the youth, as a group.

Speaking during an independence anniversary programme organised by his group and the National Orientation Agency at Women Development Centre, Agege, Lagos, Nigeria on Tuesday, Oyebanji urged educational institutions to stop churning out graduates who will be job seekers but those with entrepreneur spirit.

He blamed the system of government which he said in 50 years had produced youth with low esteem, violent, dishonest and who does not believe in themselves.
