Community Bemoans Neglect

Residents of Oke Ira in Ojodu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, South West Nigeria, have appealed to the state government to extend the dividends of democracy to the community.

High Chief (Dr.) Jimoh Bello Aboaba, the traditional ruler of Oke Ira told Lagos Bulletin on behalf of the residents, that the community lacks the good things of life in terms of social infrastructure including roads, health care facility, town hall, electricity and potable water, among others.

He appealed to the state government to rescue them from the neglect, adding that although Oke Ira is an ancient settlement, it is now bigger in size and population.

He thanked the Fashola administration for the recent commissioning of Ojoda Secondary School and for its efforts to make sure that all communities and settlements in the state enjoy the dividends of democracy.
