A landlady, Mrs. Victoria Benite and his son, Emmanuel, have been docked at an EjigboÂ Magistrateâ€™s Court in Lagos State. They were charged with illegal ejection of theirÂ tenant, Mrs Peju Ademolagun.
Acting on his motherâ€™s instruction, two of his friends, Abiodun Abas and Musibiba OwolabiÂ reportedly stormed the complainantâ€™s apartment and removed her properties when she wasÂ not around.
The incident happend at 13, King Solomon Street, Egan on the outskirts of Lagos State,Â South West Nigeria.
The tenant claimed that while they evicted her, the intruders stole her properties worthÂ N138,000.
The items she claimed they stole include one Samsung handset, a digital camera andÂ N75,000 cash, all valued at N138,000.
When the four defendants pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of conspirary andÂ stealing.
The presiding magistrate, Mrs. S. O. Solebo granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 whileÂ the landlady was released to the family members on health grounds.
The matter has been adjourned till 27 October, 2010 for hearing.
