The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has called on states and the FederalÂ Government to revive tertiary education in the country which it claimed has been comatoseÂ for many years.
Addressing a press conference on Nigeria at 50 at the International Press Centre, Ogba,Â Lagos, Nigeria, NANS condemned the enormous resources wasted on the celebration of theÂ countryâ€™s golden jubilee independence anniversary and said it could have been channeledÂ into a better cause.
One of NANSâ€™ spokespersons, Comrade Olusola Bayo, said the student body would have lovedÂ such money spent on the improvement of education.
Speaking in a similar tone, another NANSâ€™ executive member, Comrade Danda Kazeem urgedÂ Nigerian leadears to make a better plan for the youths and children to secure a betterÂ future for them.
