The ambition of the chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, of Lagos  State, Mrs. Modupe Oseghale-Fafowora to represent Isolo Federal Constituency in the House  of Representatives is creating crisis of confidence in the council area.

Political Train investigation revealed that the council boss has set her sights on  replacing current occupant of the seat, Honourable Jaiyeola Ajatta on the platform of the  Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN in the 2011 general election.

Our correspondent’s visit to the Isolo secretariat revealed that there is uneasy calm at  the council as  Oseghale  has started wielding the big stick by putting  her loyalists in  key political positions in the council area.

She  has carried out a cabinet reshuffle in the council allegedly with her perceived  political opponents either being asked to go outright or moved to lesser positions.

The Special Adviser to the chairman on Special Duties, Alhaji Kayode Folorunso, has thus  been removed by the council boss.

The Supervisor for Works, (perceived to be a strategic post), Alhaji Shamusudeen Olaleye,  has been moved to a less strategic position as Supervisor for Agric. Olaleye is a  chairmanship aspirant in the council.

The former Supervisor for Environment, Mr. Ogunmakin, has been moved to head the  education department.

Oseghale is on the verge of completing her second term as chairman of Isolo LCDA, hence,  her determination to replace Ajatta.

However, the general consensus in the council area was that Oseghale should not aim to  replace Ajatta since they are from the same ward. The general feeling is that other wards  should be given chance to present candidates for the office.

Speaking with Political Train on the development on phone Oseghale-Fafowora said cabinet  reshuffle is a normal exercise in government, adding that her local government is not the  first that will do such.

Her words: “is cabinet reshuffle a crime or is it my local government that will be the  first to do it? Let me ask you again, is there a crime in moving a commissioner for works  to environment? As far as those affected are Supervisory Councillors and their salaries  and imprest are not affected, I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. “When told  that the development is being ascribed to her political ambition, she replied thus.  “in  fact they can attach it to anything, I don’t care.”
