Robbery Suspect Held, As Police Recover Two Stolen Motorbikes

The leader of a robbery gang that has been terrorizing residents of Igando area of Lagos, South West, Nigeria has been arrested by the police.

The suspect, identified as Sunday Oke, who resides at 22, Iyanwole Street, Ijegun in company of others now at large were alleged to have attacked house 142, LASU Isheri Road, Igando before information got to the Divisional Police Officer, of Igando Police Station.

The DPO, Crime Watch learnt, immediately mobilised and rushed to the scene. On sighting the police, the robbers took to their heels but Sunday Oke was not that lucky as he was arrested by the police while others escaped with bullet wounds.

At the police station, Sunday Oke confessed to the crime saying he has taken part in many successful robbery operations within and around Igando.

The case has been transferred to the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba for further investigations.

Meanwhile, the police at Owutu Division have recovered two stolen motorcycles from where they were hidden in the bush.

Crime Watch learnt that Kayode Wasiu had earlier reported at the station that his motorcycle had been stolen from where it was parked at Gboyega Street, Ebuwawa, Agbede in Ikorodu, Lagos, South West, Nigeria.

Following the report, the DPO of Owutu Police Station Mr. Monday Okpa, CSP sent out his anti-robbery team to search for the motorcycle.

The search, however, paid off when the police were hinted by a resident that two motorcycles were seen in the bush around Ajegunle area of Agbede, Ikorodu.

On getting to the area, the police discovered 2 Bajaj motorcycles marked QK 435 KTU and QQ576 AGL. The motorcycles were taken to the station where Kayode Wasiu identified his own motorcycle marked QK 435 KTU.
