The Lagos State Traditional Medicine Board has graduated 34 traditional medicine practitioners from its institution.
The graduands specialised in various disciplines such as bone setting, traditional birth attendants, diabetes, hypertension and general healing.
Chairman of the board, Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi implored the graduands to work assiduously towards enhancing qualitative health delivery to the people.
He said the traditional medicine practitioners were put through series of examinations and tests to determine their level of absorption and understanding, adding that they must be ready for the task ahead as the state government had faith in them.
According to him, every practitioner must abide by the rules and regulations guiding their operations.
The Board’s Registrar, Dr. Bodunrin Oluwa counselled that pregnant women must be made to undergo series of tests before giving herbal concoctions.
He urged them to avoid guess work in determining the position of the foetus and misapplication of treatment which could lead to complications and possible litigation.
