Burglars Overrun Orile, Coker-Aguda

Residents of Ademola, Alli-Tinubu and other streets in Orile area of Coker-Aguda Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria have appealed to the Aguda and Orile Police Stations and Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo, the state Commissioner of Police, to save them from the menace of burglars.

Most of the residents said they no more sleep soundly because every night a three-man gang of burglars broke into their homes and cart away valuables.

They said their modus operandi is to cut the mosquito net or climb in through the ceiling to gain access into their apartment while they are asleep.

The burglars then rob them of valuables like money, GSM handsets, jewellery, DVD players, television sets and wrist watches among others.

One of the victims who does not want his name in print said the activities of the burglars peaked a few days ago when they broke into numbers 7A and 7B, Ademola Street, Orile, and robbed the residents of valuables and N46,000 cash.

The victims called on the police authorities to rescue them from this burglars because no matter what security measures they take, these boys have a way of evading them and they do not want to resort to jungle justice or become vigilantes because of the miscreants.

They pleaded that if the DPOs of Orile and Aguda Police Divisions step up security and are more vigilant, the burglars would be caught and punished.
