Residents Of Aboru/Ifesowapo in the Agbado/Oke-Ode Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, South West Nigeria, have called on the state government and the local council to look into the issue of bad roads in the LCDA. They added that the deplorable situation has continued to affect their social and economic lives.
Roads and culverts begging for immediate attention in the area include abandoned bridges and culverts at Ogo-Oluwa and Edun-Meiran road.
Others include Victor Fagbemi, Quadri, Ayo Afolabi, Holy Timothy, Unity and Arogun streets, where the vice chairman, Dr. Rufus Arogundade, lives among others.
Speaking with Lagos Bulletin, T. O. Aregbe, a community leader in the area, said the refusal of the chairman of the LCDA, Pastor Kenny Okunmuyide, to appear on Lagos State-owned Radio Lagos and LTV phone-in programmes Aye Daade and Access 57 designed for all LG/LCDA chairmen to give account of their stewardship to the electorate, is a pointer to the fact that he has not performed.
Meanwhile, the residents have urged Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola to call the chairman to order by asking him to respect the constituted authority and people’s mandate to appear on Aye Daade and Access 57 programmes on Radio Lagos and Lagos Television respectively, to give account of his stewardship.
