Rufus Oladele Adekanye, the chairman, Lagos Mainland Local Government Area of Lagos State, has appealed to the various captains of industry in the council area to be more responsive in their social corporate service and pay their normal taxes as at when due to accelerate development in the area.
Adekanye said if companies and corporate organisations pay their taxes and other required rates regularly, his administration will utilise the money to develop the area.
According to him, the council is highly populated and one of the most industrialised in the state, while it is also saddled with great challenges to bring good governance to the people.
“Some companies in the council area fail to pay their taxes as well as their social responsibilities, yet their big trucks destroy our roads without contributing to their maintenance and construction of new ones. They need to help and develop this area, while we must work together to make a total difference,†he stated.
