A chairmanship aspirant in Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Saheed Dokunmu, has empowered women and youths of the area.
At his second poverty alleviation programme held at Ewutuntun, Oshodi, recently, the astute politician doled out cash gifts, helmets, complete phone call materials, clippers and other materials, to alleviate poverty.
Dokunmu, a former coordinator of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oshodi and presently the chairman, Ewutuntun ward of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), said he was motivated to introduce the programme by the need to extend dividends of democracy to the poor.
He revealed that his group, The Nucleus Group (TNG), is all out to ensure a brighter, rewarding future for Lagosians in particular and Nigerians in general.
Present at the occasion, where Dokunmu also announced his intention to contest the chairmanship seat of Oshodi/Isolo Local Government, were former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Bosun Jeje; chairman, ACN, Ojodu, Alhaji Ashiru and his Oshodi/Isolo counterpart, Alhaji Balogun Agidi, among others.
