The Lagos State Government has withdrawn the case it instituted against striking medical doctors from the National Industrial Court in Lagos.
The withdrawal follows the inability of the two parties to reach an amicable settlement.
The government had gone to Court to compel doctors to end their strike. The Court had ordered the two parties to reach an amicable settlement out of Court. But, all these had failed.
With the withdrawal of the case against striking doctors, no one is sure of the next step the government will take.
The doctors are demanding improved conditions of service to be at par with their counterparts in the federal civil service.
