Metropolitan Hotel which Transcorp recently acquired has been renamed Transcorp Metropolitan Hotel.
Located on Murtala Mohammed highway, the main road leading into Calabar from the airport, Transcorp Metropolitan Hotel has since been known as the toast of government officials a result of a long romantic history with both the citizens and government in Calabar; but as the days of the Calabar festival draws nearer, it is now equally known as the first point of call and relaxation spot for people in and out of Calabar.
The hotel one of those granted referral by the state government to do business in the state and it has the only conference facility in the city so it is used for most conferences and banquets.
Some key Transcorp personnel that were instrumental to the acquisition of Metropolitan hotel are Vincent Akas with over 16 years experience working in the Hilton in the US. He is currently the Operations Manager. Nuhu Sani is the Logistics and Procurement Manager and has been with Transcorp at the Hilton Abuja office for over four years. Afie Makinde has over 15 years project management experience and was instrumental in the acquisition and marketing of the hotel.
