With the Green, White and Green flag waving proudly in his hand and singing Nigeria’s National Anthem and Pledge, highly elated Nigeria’s Uti Nwachukwu last night in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa made it a sweet victory for Nigeria as he won the majority votes to emerge the winner of the Big Brother All Stars. It was the second consecutive BBA win for Nigeria in the extremely popular Pan African reality television series. Kevin Chuwang Pam won the Big Brother Revolution in 2009.
This year, fifth in the series, was the closest and biggest. According to show host, Nigeria’s Rhythm FM’ s On-Air personality IK Osakiduowa, it was a tight race between the final two housemates-27 year old Uti and Zimbabweâ€
At the end of the day, eight countries gave their votes to Uti, with seven countries behind Munya who was visibly shocked losing to Uti.
“This year was the closest ever finale with the winner securing the votes from eight countries and the runner up from seven. It was a tight race and the biggest so far with more than a million votes,” IK said.
Among the last five housemates who made it to the finals, Kenyan born Sheila was the first to be evicted. She was followed by Mwisho. The third housemate to leave was South Africa’s Lerato. The plumpy South African babe was so proud of herself being the first South Africa to ever reach the last three of the reality show and said she will cherish the moment for ever.
The show finale was exciting with great performances from Nigeriaâ€
Others are Kenyaâ€
After being presented with the white envelope, signalling his new status as Big Brother All Stars winner, Uti was given a remote control to officially shut down the House. The first time, Uti went to the Big Brother House in 2008, he didn’t make it. He had, prior to that time†participated in the Nigerian reality television series ‘Next Movie Star’, which he finished as the runner-up, before being selected for Big Brother Africa 3.
He got another chance as he was selected on 18 July among the 14 past BBA housemates from 14 countries to participate in the Big Brother All Stars.
