A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Olawale Alawiye-King, hasÂ commended the Court of Appeal for declaring the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN)Â candidate in the 2007 governorship election in Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi,Â winner of the election.
Reacting to the judgment which nullified the election of Segun Oni, the lawmakerÂ representing Lagos Island Constituency 1 and Chairman, House Committee on Education,Â said Fayemiâ€™s victory has shown that no matter how long lies may last, the truthÂ will always prevail and would also correct the wrongs the people suffered during theÂ election and last yearâ€™s rerun.
He congratulated Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babatunde Fashola, Engr. RaufÂ Aregbesola and all ACN members across the country as well as the entire EkitiÂ people, saying, â€œwith the victory, the peole of Ekiti will now heave a sigh ofÂ relief and have a new lease of life.â€
