Slain Ikorodu LCDA Legislator Buried
The remains of the Leader of the House in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area, Lagos Stater, southwest Nigeria, Mr. Felix Idowu Aro, was buried last Friday amidst tears and wailing at his Majidun, Ikorodu residence.
Hon. Aro was murdered at his residence by unknown gunmen on 15 September 2010 and his remains had since been at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, morgue pending investigations.
At the lying-in-state ceremony held at the council secretariat, the chairman of the LCDA, Hon Jide Banjoko, described the deceased as a gentleman, adding that the legislator will greatly missed for his contributions to the development and success of the council’s administration and his love for the people.
Meanwhile investigations are still ongoing to unravel the mystery behind the killing, though it was gathered that some suspects have been arrested in connection with the gruesome act.
