Three suspects, Joda O. Olukayode, 44; Akingbohungbe Kunle, 22 and Ayowole Adefemi, 32 have been docked at the Isheri Oke Magistrate’s Court in Lagos on a three-count charge of conspiracy and theft of cash and jewellery worth N3 million.
The police prosecutor, John Okpe, alleged that the accused stole N300,000 belonging to Dayo Famoriti, at Plot 858, Durosimi Abokunwa Street, Omole Phase II, Lagos.
According to the police, Olukayode and others at large on the same date and place broke into the house of Dayo Famoriti with intent to commit felony.
The offences are punishable under sections 516 and 412 of the Criminal Code, Cap.17, Vol. II, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
When the charges were read to them, they pleaded not guilty and the trial magistrate, Mrs. M.I. Dan-Oni admitted them on bail in the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties in like sum.
The case has been adjourned till 3 November, 2010 for mention.
