The fifth edition of the Kogsy Cake and Sugarcraft Exhibition holds on Thursday, 28 and Friday, 29 October, 2010 at the Fortune Hall, Golden Gate Restaurant, Alfred Rewane Road (formerly Kingsway Road), Ikoyi, Lagos.
The exhibition, Nigeria and West Africa’s biggest and longest running cake and sugarcraft show, is expected to be a celebration of the best of sugarcraft in the country as over thirty renowned practitioners of the craft will be present and also showcase their works.
According to Kehinde Gbele of Kogsy Sugarcraft Centre, organisers of the event, this year’ exhibition is a special-edition and will therefore be more glamorous, bigger and better in every way. She added that the two day exhibition which is internally recognised will feature interesting demonstration and intensive hands-on training on various aspects of cake decorating/sugarcraft.
These will be facilitated by a crop of top Nigerian sugarcrafters which include Dr. Roberts of Roberts Cakes and Patisseries, Tosan Jemide of Cakes by Tosan, Ann Ajadi of Absolute Elegance, Genia Okafor of Cakes ‘n’ Cakes and Sikuola Adewuyi of Cake ‘n’ Candy.
Also, she revealed that the Kiddies Cake Decorating Competition and the Icing Fun for Children (Kiddies Catch Them Young Fun Class) which generated much interest in the last two editions of the exhibition would feature again this year, while cake decorating beginners won’t be left out of the fun as there is a free workshop on how to decorate cakes using the Wilton Method of cake decorating for them.
