DPO Forces Robbers To Abandon Stolen Jeep, Goods

The Police in Owutu Division recently forced some armed robbers to abandon a black  Pontiac Sports Utility Vehicle with registration number GW 442 AAA with goods worth  over N3 million. It was snatched from the owner at Afolabi Balogun Street, Ikorodu,  Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the owner of the vehicle had reported the robbery at the  Owutu Police Station and informed the DPO that the bandits also made away with his  cell phone. The DPO of the station, Mr. Monday Okpan, a Chief Superintendent of  Police immediately requested for the victim’s cell phone number.

He then put a call across to the phone and when the robbers picked the call, he told  them to park the vehicle wherever they are, informing them that all police  formations have been duly notified of the incident and that the particulars of the  vehicle have been given out as they will be arrested within a short period.

On receiving the call, the robbers were said to have told the DPO to come to Ojokoro  new town area of Ikorodu to pick up the vehicle.

Eyewitnesses at the scene told P.M.NEWS that immediately the robbers parked the jeep  they snatched an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle and fled.

The DPO and his anti-robbery team were said to have taken the jeep with its contents  to the station, where the complainant made a wrote a statement before the car and  the goods were released to him.
