Monarch Appeals To FG
An Igbo leader in Mushin, Lagos, Nigeria, Eze Peter-C Umeh has appealed to the Federal Government to take urgent steps to repair the Ore-Benin road as it poses a serious danger to the lives of the road users.
Eze Umeh stated this in Lagos during the new yam festival organised by the Eze Ndigbo, Lagos State, Eze Hycient Ohazuruike.
He disclosed that the road was so bad that users now spend days on it for a journey that should not take more than 45 minutes.
“I am appealing to the Federal Government to do something urgently about that road because many lives have been lost as a result of its poor state,†he lamented.
Eze Umeh also commended Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State for his achievement in transforming the state.
“Fashola has done well and I wish other governors will come to the state and learn how to bring governance to the people,†he said.
He also called on Nigerians to come out during the voter’s registration exercise and register to elect credible leaders.
“Since the president has said that our votes will now count, it is left for us to participate in the voter’s registration exercise. This will enable us elect credible leaders,†he advised.
