The Lagos Chapter of the Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates’ Association (UNIFEMGA), has urged Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people.
The association gave the charge in a communiqué signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Odeyinka.
The communiqué was the outcome of a lecture organised by the association, focusing on Nigeria’s development challenges, regarding the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).
It also stressed the need for continuity in government, calling on Nigerians to support the election of credible leaders and ensure that their votes counted in 2011.
The communiqué further stressed the need for the perpetrators of the Independence Day bomb blast in Abuja to be brought to face the music.
On the international scene, UNIFEMGA lauded the ‘direct negotiation’ between the Israelis and the Palestinians, imploring the international community to be honest in brokering peace.
It further commiserated with the people of Pakistan on the unprecedented flooding that had ravaged their land, urging the international community to provide aid to the Asian country.
