Lagosians have been called upon to support the second term ambition of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola and vote for him massively in the 2011 election.
Making this plea when they visited P.M.NEWS office in Lagos, members of the Barafas Fans Club, described Fashola’s performance in Lagos as second to none in the country.
In his remarks during the visit, the Secretary-General of the group, Comrade Alhassan Audu, explained that Governor Fashola needed the support of all to be able to do more.
“We are calling on Lagosians to make themselves available in the coming voters’s registration exercise by registering and ensuring that they vote massively for Fashola in the 2011 governorship election,†he pleaded.
Audu disclosed further that his group has been watching political developments and the activities of the governor in the past three years and has decided to pitch its tent with him because of his transparency and fairness on issues.
“We have followed with admiration Fashola’s dogged determination to turn Lagos into a mega city and his success in this regard.
“It is our opinion that he deserves the support of all in his quest to continue the good job he is doing beyond May 2011. He is a leader with focus and we are ready to campaign for him throughout the nooks and crannies of Lagos,†he declared.
On the forthcoming voter’s registration exercise, the Barafas Fans Club scribe advised Lagosians not to treat it with levity.
“It is when we register that we can vote in credible leaders that will serve our interest. All workers, artisans, business men and women, students, should go out and register at the nearest centres so that their votes can count this time around,†he added. Others on the entourage were Comrade Adeniyi Adeleke (Treasurer), Olusola Okusanya (President) and Taibat Shamsideen (Woman Leader).
