Last Sunday, 17 October, Mnet Africa officially unveiled the 10 young wannabes that will compete in the season two of its musical talent hunt show, Glo Naija Sings.
The 10 selected finalists were carefully selected after rigorous auditions in seven Nigerian cities. They are 25-year old Niniola Apata, 25-year old Shedrack Duru, Peace Nwokolo, 27-year old Casey Edema, Rasine Brown, 17, Ekeng Bassey, 27 and 22-year old Boma Tolofari.
Others are Najite El-David, 19-year old Moses Obi-Adigwe and Da Brodas, the only group on the show, the duo of Fred and Jeff Akoh.
The show is billed to last for nine weeks and the winner will get a whopping cash prize of $100,000 (about N15 million) and a brand new Rav 4 SUV. This is part of a juicy three-year sponsorship deal between telecommunication giants, Glo and producers of the show, MnET, a pan African broadcast company.
Among the new good parts added to the show this season, according to Bode Opeseitan, Glo’s Director of Special Promotion, is a Toyota Corolla car to be won by the winner of the SMS draw.
Nigerian music star, Tosin Martins, will play a central role as the key judge, while Olisa Adibua, a renowned Nigerian radio personality and music expert, remains the host.
